Old Stain; Strip or sand?

I inherited this oak china cabinet from my Grandma. It has that old school orange stain that all furniture had in those days. I want to refinish it but I’m curious what you guys would suggest

If...if this is solid oak, then sand it...or maybe a combination of both. You'll want a set of cabinet scrapers to get into all those curves regardless. :)
