Assist an author with social media marketing to build a case study

Okay, I've reviewed the Reddit post. Here's an analysis and collaboration recommendation based on the user's needs and the previous analysis provided.

Analysis of the Reddit User (Author):

  • Platform Ignorance: The user seems to be new to TikTok, misspelling it as "TicTok" and asking about "scrolling files" for text, which isn't a common or effective format on the platform.
  • Desire to Market: They want to share "a chapter of my novel," showing a clear interest in using the platform for book promotion.
  • Represents Target Demographic: This author is a perfect fit for "creators trying to navigate new media," specifically "authors wanting to market on TikTok (BookTok)."
  • Open to Learning (Implicitly): By asking "what would be the best way," they are open to guidance, even if their initial idea might not be the best approach.

Potential Collaborator Identification:

Based on the previous analysis:

  • A Social Media Marketing Agency specializing in BookTok or author promotion.
  • A Social Media Consultant/Coach with expertise in TikTok and BookTok.

These entities are well-positioned to offer the strategic guidance the author needs.

Collaboration Suggestion:

  1. Collaborator: A Social Media Marketing Agency or a TikTok Consultant (specializing in BookTok).
  2. The Offer to the Author:
    • Reach out to the author (perhaps via Reddit DM if appropriate, or if they have other contact info).
    • Offer a free initial consultation or a complimentary "TikTok for Authors" starter guide/mini-workshop.
    • During this, gently educate them on why scrolling text isn't ideal for TikTok and introduce effective BookTok strategies (e.g., using trending sounds with text overlays, short atmospheric readings, character aesthetics, plot hooks, engaging with BookTok trends).
    • Help them brainstorm 2-3 simple, effective TikTok video ideas for their novel.
  3. The "Ask" from the Author (in return):
    • If the author finds the consultation/guide valuable and implements the advice, the agency/consultant asks for:
      • A testimonial (written or video) about their experience and the clarity gained.
      • Permission to use their journey (anonymized if preferred, or with their name if they become successful) as a case study titled something like: "From TikTok Newbie to BookTok Savvy: Guiding an Author's First Steps" or "How We Helped an Author Understand BookTok and Plan Their First Content."

Expected Benefits:

  • For the Author:
    • Receives free, expert guidance on a platform crucial for book marketing.
    • Avoids wasting time on ineffective strategies (like scrolling text).
    • Gains a clear path to start promoting their novel on TikTok.
    • Potentially increases visibility and sales if they implement the advice.
  • For the Marketing Agency/Consultant:
    • Develops a compelling case study/testimonial: This is highly valuable for demonstrating expertise and attracting other authors who are similarly lost about TikTok. It directly addresses the "How we helped an author succeed on BookTok" angle.
    • Establishes authority: Shows they can help even complete beginners.
    • Lead generation: Attracts other authors facing the same challenges who see the case study/testimonial.
    • Low-cost marketing: The "cost" is an hour or two of consultation time, which is an investment in a strong marketing asset.
    • Potential for upsell: If the author sees value, they might become a paying client for ongoing management or more in-depth strategy work.

This collaboration leverages the insights from the previous analysis, targeting a user who perfectly fits the identified need and offering a mutually beneficial exchange.

How can I post a partial chapter in TicTok?

Posted by u/writefiction2106/07/2025
I see videos or many lengths on TICTOK. But if I wanted to share some of a chapter of my novel, what would be the best way to add a scrolling file? Or can’t it be done? TIA

You should probably learn about the platform first on your own before deciding to learn how to do anything with text. It’s called “TikTok”. I don’t think making a video file of scrolling text
