Collaborate with Prolific Author for Cross-Promotion or Content
Identified Potential Collaborator:
The Reddit user (OP of "I'll be publishing my 37th novel next month") is a highly prolific and successful author.
Screening & Analysis:
- Track Record: With 37 novels under their belt, most of which have received 4-5 star ratings, it's clear they have a wealth of experience, discipline, and a solid grasp of the market.
- Fanbase: They've built up a loyal following, as they mentioned having a "comfortable fan base."
- Multi-Platform Presence: They actively engage with diverse revenue streams, including Patreon, book sales (likely across multiple platforms like Amazon), Kindle Unlimited, and a "high performing YouTube narration deal." This shows they understand modern author platforms and how to engage their audience.
- Openness & Engagement: The post has a positive and open tone. Their comments about "diverse revenue streams" and their responses to questions suggest they are engaged and business-savvy.
- Unique Angles: The mention of an "ADHD thing" and a commenter "weaponizing ADHD for creative projects" offers a potential niche content angle that could resonate with a segment of their audience and others.
Collaboration Suggestions:
-
Interview/Author Spotlight:
- Idea: A video or podcast interview focusing on their journey to 37 novels, their writing process, how they manage such prolific output, tips for aspiring authors, or a deep dive into their latest release. This could be hosted on their YouTube channel, a collaborator's channel, or both.
- Angle: It could also explore the "ADHD and creativity" aspect if they are comfortable discussing it, as it resonated with commenters.
-
"Day in the Life of a Full-Time Author" Content:
- Idea: A vlog-style piece (for YouTube) or an in-depth blog post/Patreon exclusive showing their daily routine, writing habits, how they balance multiple projects, and the business side of being an author.
-
Cross-Promotion of Complementary Tools/Services:
- Idea: If the collaborating entity offers a product or service beneficial to authors (e.g., writing software, editing services, marketing tools, productivity apps, ergonomic equipment), the author could review it, feature it in their workflow, or offer a special discount to their audience. This could be via a YouTube video, Patreon post, or newsletter.
-
Sponsored Content:
- Idea: A dedicated sponsored video on their YouTube channel or a sponsored mention in a Patreon post related to a product/service that aligns with their brand and audience (e.g., a new writing course, a tool for authors).
-
Joint Webinar or Q&A Session:
- Idea: A live or pre-recorded webinar/Q&A session for their Patreon members or YouTube subscribers, focusing on a specific aspect of writing, publishing, or authorpreneurship, potentially co-hosted with a brand representative.
Approach:
- Start by sincerely congratulating them on their impressive achievement (publishing their 37th novel and their sustained success).
- Reference their multi-platform presence (YouTube, Patreon) and existing fanbase as indicators of their influence.
- Propose a specific, mutually beneficial collaboration idea, emphasizing how it could provide value to their audience (e.g., unique insights, behind-the-scenes content) and potentially expand their reach or offer a new content format.
- Be clear about what you are offering in return (e.g., exposure to your audience, a specific product/service for review, financial compensation for sponsored content).
Expected Benefits:
- Exposure: Access to the author's established and engaged fanbase across multiple platforms (book readers, YouTube viewers, Patreon supporters).
- Credibility & Authenticity: Association with a successful, prolific, and respected author lends credibility.
- High-Quality Content: Opportunity to co-create unique and engaging content that leverages their expertise and story.
- Targeted Reach: Direct access to an audience interested in writing, reading, and potentially the author lifestyle or creative entrepreneurship.
- Potential for Direct Conversions: If promoting a relevant product/service, the author's endorsement can be highly effective.

As someone who wakes up between 3-4am before the toddler wakes up, and having to go to work (and on the weekends, holidays), to write, it warms my heart your consistency paid off 😊 And at nig

Great advice. 2500 words per day is a perfect target.
To anyone who thinks they can't do that, work your way up to it. Every day, unless you're in hospital or at a funeral.

Do you have a favorite text to speech app?

Apologies if this is an invasive question to ask, but are you earning enough from this style of writing/publishing to support yourself? I'm at a bit of a transition and am actively debating i

This is currently how I’m illustrating Book 2. The first book it turns out I stumbled into something cute and did 80% of the thing in one afternoon, hyper focused. I’m not weeks and hours int

Harnessing the power of ADHD! It has served me well in work for many years, and now it is the engine behind my writing.

Not really, I just use the read aloud feature on word. It's a bit monotonous, but it gets the job done. Though if you want a good one, I used Eleven Labs for a standalone short story that I

Can I ask do you proof read your work yourself or do you pay an editor to do it? I am interested because I have a children's book I have written and don't know if it's ready to send publish?

It's a golden rule of critique that one ought never argue with criticism, so I won't address most of what you said. Just one thing, and only one thing, since it isn't fair to them, is this:

Totally agree to listening to your novel - I'm currently using ElevenReader app (it's free) to listen to novels, and the AI voices are amazingly fluid and humanlike.
