Custom Character Sculpture and Bespoke 3D Printing Service

Product/Service Opportunity Analysis:

There's a clear demand from enthusiasts and collectors for physical models of specific or niche characters (e.g., 'Milo' from Disney's Atlantis, as explicitly requested in the comment: "Ooh, could you do Milo too?") that aren't commercially mass-produced. The original poster has shown they can create such high-quality models, from digital sculpt to finished physical print.

Suggestion: Custom 3D Printed Character Model Service.

Description: This service would cater to individuals looking for high-quality, custom-made physical models or figurines of characters, especially those that are niche, obscure, or not available through mass-market channels. The process would involve:

  1. Client Consultation: Understanding the desired character, specific pose (if any), desired size (e.g., the 10" Packard model), and level of detail.
  2. Digital Sculpting & Modeling:
    • If the client has a pre-existing 3D model, it can be reviewed and prepared for printing.
    • More often, the service would involve custom digital sculpting (e.g., using ZBrush, as the original poster did) based on reference images, concept art, or detailed descriptions provided by the client. This includes setting up keys for assembly if the model is complex or large.
  3. 3D Printing Preparation: Scaling the model (e.g., in Blender) and preparing the print file using appropriate slicer software (e.g., Halot Box, as used by the OP).
  4. High-Quality 3D Printing: Utilizing resin 3D printers (like the Halot Mage mentioned) for high-detail output suitable for collectible figurines.
  5. Post-Processing and Finishing: This critical stage includes cleaning the print, curing (for resin), meticulous sanding, assembly of keyed parts, priming, and professional-level painting and finishing to match the character's appearance and achieve a display-worthy collectible.

Expected Benefits:

  • Fulfills Unmet Niche Demand: Provides fans with physical collectibles of beloved characters that are otherwise unavailable, like Milo or Packard from "Atlantis."
  • High Perceived Value & Premium Pricing: Custom, handcrafted items command higher prices than mass-produced goods, reflecting the skill, time, and personalization involved.
  • Unique, Personalized Products: Each piece is essentially a one-off or limited commission, offering exclusivity to the buyer.
  • Direct-to-Consumer Model: Enables direct interaction with passionate customers, fostering a strong community and allowing for clear communication of desired outcomes.
  • Leverages Existing Skills & Technology: Utilizes demonstrated skills in digital sculpting (ZBrush), model preparation (Blender, Halot Box), and high-detail resin 3D printing and finishing.
  • Tangible Realization of Digital Art: Allows fans to bring digital characters or their own character concepts (if the service expands to original characters) into the physical world.

I sculpted the model in Zbrush and set up the keys there as well. Scaled in blender, it’s approximately 10”. I used Halot box for the setting up the print file. Printed on my Halot Mage resin

Awesome work, do you do commissions? I've been trying to get someone to replicate a historical statue for a long time now. [related](https://www.istockphoto.com/de/foto/unabh%C3%A4ngigkeits

Still one of the funniest characters. In the German Dub they gave her a thick Berlin accent which suits her perfectly

Gotta start somewhere! Just A few years ago I had no idea how to do any of this stuff. I had a traditional art background but digital art, 3d modeling, printing etc was very foreign to me. Bu
