Digital Interactive Wishing Well for Events (Software-Only)
The original concept of a 'Tap to Pay' wishing well for weddings hit significant feasibility hurdles due to high hardware costs for PCI compliance and market feedback about it feeling impersonal. A pivot to a software-only SaaS solution can resolve these issues. Instead of expensive, dedicated tap-to-pay hardware, the SaaS could provide event organizers or couples with a personalized digital 'wishing well' page, accessible via a custom QR code. Guests could scan the QR code with their own devices, make contributions securely via standard payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal), and include personal messages. An optional, rented tablet would then serve purely as a display unit, showing real-time thank-you messages, animations, or contributor names after a digital payment is made from a guest's phone. This approach bypasses hardware complexities, addresses the 'impersonal' feedback by allowing personal messages, and offers a modern, interactive, and convenient alternative to traditional cash/card boxes for events.
