Men's Gym Shorts: No-Ride Up, Squat-Proof, Secure Pockets, Anti-Chafe.

The user is explicitly searching for gym shorts that stay in place during various exercises and lists key requirements: squat-proof material, pocket security, and anti-chafing. Comments reinforce these needs, with users discussing solutions like compression liners, especially for those with "thick thighs," and mentioning specific brands, though the initial search implies existing options may not fully satisfy all criteria. This highlights a clear demand for high-performance men's gym shorts that comprehensively address common workout discomforts and functional issues.

A product line specifically engineered and marketed with these features would be highly sought after. This could include:

  • Advanced Anti-Ride-Up Design: Incorporating a non-slip interior waistband, an ergonomic cut tailored for dynamic movement (potentially with variations for different builds like "thick thighs"), and an optional, seamlessly integrated compression liner made from a material that grips slightly to the skin or underlying layers without constricting.
  • Guaranteed Squat-Proof Fabric: Utilizing a high-density, opaque, yet breathable and flexible performance fabric that has been rigorously tested for full coverage during deep squats and other stretches.
  • Secure, Low-Profile Pockets: Featuring zippered or securely flapped pockets, strategically placed to minimize movement interference while keeping essentials like phones and keys safe.
  • Comprehensive Anti-Chafe Construction: Employing flatlock seams throughout, using smooth, moisture-wicking fabrics, and ensuring any liner (if included) is designed with chafe-prevention as a primary goal (e.g., extended length, smooth leg openings).

Expected Benefit: Significantly improved workout experience by providing enhanced comfort, complete confidence in apparel performance (no transparency or slippage), and unwavering focus, free from common apparel-related distractions and discomforts such as chafing or insecure items.

If we have a “failure” on shorts or spandex we have a bigger problem lol

I prefer compression shorts/pants separate from the outer shorts; if one element fails, you can still use the other. But yes the spandex is a must for thicker thighs.

Try prAna. Mostly marketed towards rock climbing and yoga but they make great clothes that hold up really well for general working out and everyday use.

My favorites are A7’s KWD (longer) or Squat short (very short). I squat in knee sleeves, so very short shorts are nice for that - gives more breathing room. I use the other ones on my other

I wear Lululemon compression shorts. I have one pair from 15 years ago and only recently got a second pair. They're great.
