If you want real experience you need to put in a bit of facetime. Doc review might be available to you, but that’s not going to get you real experience.

Hi, I have not, but I am certainly open to it. The problem is I literally do not know anyone in the field.

Federal practice, not employed by feds. Plenty of solos and smaller firms that are remote all over the country.

I doubt OHO is hiring given the current administration, so probably no attorney advisor positions writing decisions - though who knows. DOGE I think required more people to go back in office.

I’m open to anything other than doc review. Really just looking for experience.

Be careful. I interviewed for a fully remote (but based in the DMV) entry level position that offered a non-negotiable $80,000k and 2000 billable requirement. This is with a clerkship. I turn

Yes, it's the same with social security nowadays. You can basically do it completely remotely now since covid. I have really enjoyed it but weirdly miss the travel I got to do.
It's great
u/DreamergirlEsq
I would even be willing to volunteer, just to get some experience.
u/Shot_Thanks_5523
Remote entry level attorney is setting yourself up for failure even if you can find one. That said, the dc legal market is brutal right now. But if you’re looking for remote federal practice

Is remote federal even a thing nowadays?
u/nolabison26
Check out the veterans consortium, they’ll teach you the basics. It’s definitely worth checking out.
u/cheshirecat1917
Not OP, but also a DC-area attorney who’s currently looking to jump to a more interesting area of law; tell me more?
u/en_triton
No problem and good luck!

I do remote social security work. I'm a little confused by your post, though, are you looking to work for claimants or for the agency?

I would say, start with looking up the veterans consortium, they host free CLEs where they’ll teach you vet law. After taking their training, you can request cases if they have any available
