I get this when I lay down (not permanent, probably related to high blood pressure), so my doctor first recommended I try a nasal dilator, just a silicone rubber thing that goes in the nostri

I agree. I use a small piece of KT tape right under the septum, over my lips and it ends above my chin. Most of my mouth is untaped. It’s just enough to keep my mouth closed & encourage n

I have a narrow nose. Too narrow to breathe, but for reasons the doctors don’t want to operate. So when I sleep I breathe through my mouth. A tape over the mouth will probably suffocate me

Full face masks are the correct answer. If you have nasal congestion switching temporarily to full face mask can be a solution.

You can train yourself to breath only in and out through your nose. However it's normal to breath out of your mouth as well. This is dangerous and these omline medic hacks have got to atop.

Yep. Me too. I use a cpap and it’s pretty much impossible to get a good seal with an open mouth.

Mouth tape helped me learn to breathe through my nose while sleeping (and it took a while). I used it in combination with a cpap and eventually graduated from full face to the less cumbersome

High pressure (above 13 or so it starts) in a nasal mask will cause it to escape your mouth even if your sinuses are totally clear. I don’t believe there is a correct answer like yours - CPAP

Anecdotally, I used to mouth tape to encourage (force) nasal breathing (which is definitely a health benefit in the oral department, if nothing else).
At some point i ran out of the, brand

I never bought the actual mouth tape because it was hilariously expensive, but I experimented with 1.5” wide blue painters tape and found that it kept my mouth closed all night and didn’t hur

No one is saying tape it with duct tape. You can put one small piece in the middle, not enough to fully tape the mouth, but it is enough to induce nasal breathing.
