HOOD closed at **74.88** so why would it not be exercised?
u/No_Feeling920
Note, that the time window (cut-off) for announcement of intent to exercise (by long contract holders) is ultimately set by the OCC. This applies to manual exercise. Quoting some AI "wisdom"

Well it depends if the buyer chose to exercise the option or not. At close, HOOD was 74.88, so they would’ve chosen not to exercise. If he looked solely at price at 5:30, even 5:15, he would’

I just noticed this. If it’s ITM by 1pm pst it will auto exercise. The pin risk I was talking about is if it OTM by 1 but ITM by 2:30 PST
In this case it closed below 75 before 1 pst so you’

What’s caused the massive drop after hours?
u/Onemoredonutplease
So someone made you buy hood at 75 bucks. To exercise this that means the owner of your options actually had the shares right?
But at 530pm est RH is showing that hood was at 77.50. I’m so

Good question.
Options only auto exercise if they’re ITM by 1PM PST. If it’s ITM between 1 - 2:30PM PST then you have to manually call broker to exercise. I did not call the broker to do so

That was nasty (hood down after hours) but it’s fair and part of the game.

Correct, shares hit my account. It won’t bankrupt me but definitely a decent loss for me.
