Do you procrastinate going to bed?

Posted by u/ResponsibleBee455206/04/2025
I usually end up staying up late, even when I don’t mean to or i’m super tired. I recently realized it’s because nighttime feels like the only free time I truly have, and going to bed earlier

Revenge bedtime/sleep procrastination is the term you’re looking for, and yes it is very real

Yes. Almost every night. Then I wake up in the morning and the first thing I can think about is going back to sleep. Then all of the sudden it is midnight again.

tbh i still struggle with it often, but something that’s helped a bit is setting a time limit for myself, like an hour or two (depending on how late it is). i also don’t know what time you

This is my pattern too.

Absolutely. Are you introverted or extraverted? Just a theory here.

Yup. I spent years getting like 3 hours of sleep to feel like a normal person for just an hour or 2 a day. My wife's job is unbelievably demanding literally 24/7 and we end up awake until 2-3

i feel exactly like this and i usually end up accidentally falling asleep w/o meaning to and to make up for it i wake up at 3-4 am

Rediscover the joy of lying in bed early knowing you're in no rush to fall asleep, and can just enjoy how heavy and relaxed your body is

Every god damn night, I rarely seem to have much luck beating it no matter how tired I am. I've struggled to keep my eyes open the last couple days at work but here I am doing it again!

looked the term up and that’s definitely it. anything you’ve done to help with it?
