My plan is to go solo, I am experienced in criminal law and dui. However, in my state it’s hard to sustain a business with just criminal and Dui. Is it possible to open up my office and learn

Those both seem like steep learning curve areas. I know a number of Crim Defense attorneys whose 2nd area to keep the lights on is Family Law, as there is always work and it's generally strai

1. How robust is your state's CLE situation? We have an incredibly extensive CLE organization where one can effectively learn the nuts and bolts of many practice areas with 2 to 3 trainings.

Around me a lot of criminal and DUI folk also handle divorces and family law. Lots of overlap with DV allegations in divorce cases.
