Little kids, even toddlers, write songs all of the time. They'll be like "my kitty is nice, his name is Bo, I love my kitty, I love him so much!" Or "I got a cookie, I got a cookie, I GOT A

Come up with a melody in your head and transpose it onto an instrument. And have fun with it. Throw a lot of ideas at it until something sticks.

I would take a two pronged approach.
1. Start writing. Maybe take a creative writing course at the community college. Find your writing voice and what you want to say.
2. Learn a ton of

Write an intro, then write a verse.. then write a pre-chorus followed by a chorus. Repeat that a couple of times, then write a nice outro.
