Universal Ergonomic Headrest & Adjustable Neck Support for Office/Study Chairs
A law student is dealing with some serious neck pain that's causing nausea, all from hunching over books for 2 to 7 hours a day. While a good chair can help, one key suggestion is to get a headrest that supports the neck. Many mid-range or older ergonomic chairs just don’t have the right kind of head and neck support. There’s a real opportunity for a universally attachable, highly adjustable ergonomic headrest and neck support. It should be able to adjust in height, depth, and tilt to keep the cervical spine aligned and comfortable, fitting a wide range of chair backs.

I’m studying law in college and I have to sit anywhere from 2-7 hours a day in my chair to do homework. It’s getting to the point to where I get nauseous (because my neck hurts so bad) and I

I have a steel case leap chair and it’s been the best investment ever. Bought second hand too.

A Herman Miller Aeron is what I have - secondhand. BUT that alone is not enough. Consider a convertible standing desk, and even consider an under desk treadmill. One of those giant gym balls

Agree with everyone on the exercise and moving around. Law school absolutely wrecked my back and neck. I now embrace tummy time (as a practicing attorney lol) It gives your neck a break from

I hated the Herman miller chair, tried a few different sizes but they were all too stiff. I have a Steelcase Leap V2 and love it. I’m a graphic designer and easily can spend 12 hours in that

Be sure to get a headrest to support the neck.

You’re so right! I need to go back to the gym honestly but it’s so hard to get the motivation after a long day :(

You need to exercise sis.
I work a job where I'm on my feet for over 9 hours a day and even *I* feel like my body has loosened up with half an hour of activity.

Everyone saying the Herman Miller but I love my Haworth Fern. Also yeah, exercise. I hate machine exercising, but yoga works for me.

I have an itch to re-word the title: “What chair is suitable for a couch potato queen, who reads and knits for hours, and her royal cat 🐈 “

You can try standing up to do your homework and reduce your sitting time.

You need to get up every hour and move around.

Herman Miller chain. I personally use the Embody but the Aeron is most peoples go to.
Steelcase is also another option.
You can find both of them at a discount from office surplus stores.

Markus from IKEA is less than 300, and feels like a chair that should be double that.
Im a 265lb man and I have sar in that chair for 7 years now, still works well.

I have a Steelcase Gesture, and there are other good suggestions in other comments, but the best recommendation I have is to test any chair before you buy it. The best test is at least 30 mi

Either a herman miller aeron or a steel case gesture. I have both but would probably recommend a gesture for people who are very heavy and the herman miller for people who aren’t.

Sitting for long study sessions like that can really take a toll on your body, and the nausea from neck pain sounds absolutely miserable. While a good ergonomic chair is definitely important,

I sit on a Steelcase Leap at work every day for 6-7 hours a day and my back never hurts. I tried the Hermin Miller Aeron as well to see which I wanted to use but it wasn't for me.

People like the Aeron, but it sort of forces you into one position. It doesn't really allow slouching. Also the front edge of the seat pan can dig into your thighs, right behind the knee.

But also set a 20 minute timer and change positions, even slightly! Like you, I can sit and focus for hours… but learned in PT later this was bad for me. Learn from my mistakes… reposition of
