Visual guide SaaS for users hesitant to perform PC hardware repairs.

Opportunity: The user is dealing with a common PC hardware issue—potential SSD failure after a power outage—and has been advised to take a diagnostic step, which involves removing the SSD. However, their main hurdle is inexperience and fear: "I’ve never done it before, and there’s some kind of protector over it that wasn’t coming off easily, so I stopped." This highlights a significant niche: users who can follow instructions but lack the confidence and specific visual guidance to perform even basic hardware manipulations, especially when they encounter minor unexpected obstacles like a "protector" (likely an M.2 heatsink or a drive bay cover).

Product Form: A SaaS platform offering a library of ultra-clear, high-definition video and annotated photographic guides for common PC component troubleshooting, removal, and installation.

  • Key Features:
    • Component-Specific & Obstacle-Specific Guides: Not just "how to remove an SSD," but "how to safely remove an M.2 SSD under a heatsink shield on an Armory Desktop PC" or "how to open an ASUS ROG Strix G15 to access the SSD."
    • Focus on Confidence Building: Narration and visuals emphasizing safety, common mistakes to avoid, and reassurance. Clearly show how to handle "protectors," stubborn screws, or delicate connectors.
    • Tool Identification: Clearly show which tools are needed and how to use them correctly.
    • Troubleshooting Steps: Include short "what if" scenarios (e.g., "if the cover is stuck here...").
    • Searchable Database: Users can search by PC model (if popular), component type, or specific problem.

Expected Revenue:

  • Business Model: Pay-per-guide or a small subscription for access to a category of guides.
    • Pay-per-guide: A user with this specific problem might pay $3 - $7 to unlock a detailed guide titled "Safely Removing Your SSD from an Armory Desktop After Power Failure (including common covers/shields)."
    • Subscription (Tiered): Perhaps $5/month for access to all "Storage Device" guides, or $15/month for all PC hardware guides.
  • Potential: If the platform develops a comprehensive library for common PC models and components and effectively markets to DIY forums, Reddit communities, and search engine queries like "how to remove SSD [PC model]," it could attract thousands of users.
    • Even with a conservative estimate of 500 guide purchases per month at an average of $5, this would generate $2,500/month.
    • With a larger, well-indexed library and better SEO, attracting 2,000-5,000 users/month at $5 per guide could generate $10,000 - $25,000/month.
    • The primary value is addressing the immediate fear and uncertainty for a specific, urgent problem, making a small one-time payment highly attractive.

If you have another computer you can plug the SSD into an external USB caddy and see if it loads. You could even plug it in as a second drive and see if it loads up. A failed SSD will usual

Thanks for the reply. I was actually going to try to remove it but I’ve never done it before and there’s a protector of some sort over it which wasn’t easily coming off so I stopped, but mayb
