Just a reminder to all because of SNAP benefits given the shutdown: If you see someone stealing food; no you didn't.

That is all.

Govt Shutdown - No Pay - Mortgage Company Doesn’t Care

With this damn government shut down and being a federal employee and not getting paid, I called the mortgage company and credit card company because I’m unable to make the payment since I haven’t gotten paid. The mortgage company doesn’t really care they expect and want their money. I’m pretty sure a lot of individuals are probably going through the same thing but in such situations with people living paycheck to paycheck, there is no humanity when it comes to money. I’ve never felt so defeated.

Bored? Call Ohio AG Dave Yost and ask him why Ohio isn't joining the lawsuit against the Trump admin for withholding food stamps!

I mean, we all already know the answer (he's a blowhard who wants to stay on Trump's good side), but it's worth calling. I just called, spoke very politely to the rep who picked up the phone, and ostensibly they'll get back to me with an answer? - call 800-282-0515, option 5 - 1.39 million Ohioans used foodstamps in FY 2024, or 11.7% of the total population - Ohio's last budget cut state assistance to food banks by $7.5 million to $24.5 million, 2019 levels, in the face of record need *which is about to get a lot more record-breaking* I asked why Yost wasn't doing something that would be of such obvious benefit to so many Ohioans. She said she would pass my query to the AG office's "administration" and they would call me back. Anyway, I don't think they're used to getting too many political/policy calls over there. She was really nice, and didn't have a canned response. Even with hold time, the whole thing probably took about seven minutes. So make the call, scroll through some news while you're on hold, and politely ask what gives!

SNAP cuts for Hoosiers are outrageous we can spend hundreds of billions overseas, but can’t feed our children? How do you feel about this?

As a Hoosier, I’m absolutely **furious** about what’s happening with SNAP benefits. The same government that sends hundreds of billions oversea supposedly helping allies, investing in foreign policy, or funding endless initiatives now wants to pull the the rug out from under the most needy people in American including small children. How is it possible to cut food aid when so many families in Indiana are already barely scraping by? Seriously. These cuts aren’t just numbers on a budget sheet they translate directly into hungry kids, stressed parents, missed meals, and instability. For many households, SNAP isn’t some luxury, it’s **the difference** between putting food on the table or going without. This is serious and we all should be outraged about hour our government spends OUR MONEY. We keep hearing arguments about “waste, fraud, inefficiencies” or “encouraging self-sufficiency,” but when you dig deeper, these policies often punish the most vulnerable. Work requirements, tighter asset checks, stricter eligibility all of this makes the safety net vanish for people who *already* have very little to spare and when you really think about WHY it even gets worse. TAXES. INFLATION. They are out of CONTROL. And let’s be real: there are children in Indiana who go to school hungry, or rely on benefits not just for groceries, but for basic nutritional stability. Cutting those benefits doesn’t just affect dinner tonight it affects childhood development, schooling, mental health, and long-term opportunity. Some genuinely will NOT eat unless they have SNAP. We can and must do better. It’s morally reprehensible to prioritize foreign spending over the wellbeing of local families. These children are Hoosiers and US citizens, their lives matter, their futures matter. It’s not just about politics, it’s about human dignity. **H**ow do YOU all feel about SNAP being taken away from everyone, while sending 40 billion to Argentina just days ago and the list goes on and on and on and on and on...
